Jonathan Toews scores goals and threads assists with the best of them, but his game is so much more.
Whether it's a late-game faceoff, a crucial penalty kill, needing a strong backcheck or a relentless work ethic from start to finish, there's no one better to turn to than No. 19. Just ask his teammates who see it game in and game out.

KIRBY DACH:

"It's kind of an unsung job working that hard and playing at both ends of the ice, to be that shutdown guy and then be able to score those timely goals like he has over his career. I don't think he gets enough praise for how good he's really been. Definitely a special player."

CONNOR MURPHY:

"He's willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win. In that case, it's pretty much doing everything. He's one of the best shootout players of all time, too. There's so many ways he offers his skill to the game and it's pretty selfless to go out and be able to have a big D-zone draw or a big faceoff or something that isn't going to contribute on the scoresheet, but it's something that's going to contribute to winning and is a big reason the Hawks have had success."

PATRICK KANE:

"I met him when we were like 12 years old actually. Being the same birth year, we played against each other a little bit growing up. I remember playing against him in a championship game one time and our team ended up winning, but he had three goals. We were kind of a summer team, tried to put a lot of kids from the different areas together and I think a lot of people were thinking, 'We've got to get this kid on our team for the next tournament.' Sure enough, he came up to this tournament in Montreal and played with us and pretty much the same exact player he is today: good two-way player, very competitive, always wanting to be the best. It's funny when you play with someone at like 12 years old and you end up being on the same team in the NHL. I followed his career a little bit as time went on, saw he got drafted high in the WHL and then high in the NHL. Didn't think we would end up teammates, but pretty cool it ended up that way."

RILEY STILLMAN:

"He does a bit of everything. He's a guy you can count on to score a goal at a special time and he's a guy you can count on if you have a draw with six seconds left with the opposition's goalie pulled. He's a guy that you want on the ice in all situations, and that's a testament to his character, too, because he's a guy that wants to be the guy to be on the ice in every situation and he's just a special, special person."

ALEX DeBRINCAT:

"The effort he puts on the ice, you see he's giving 110% every shift he's out there and doing the right things. It's contagious through the team to do the right things and want to win."
!

TYLER JOHNSON:

"He's an incredible player and an incredible person. When I used to play against him, I used to hate playing against him because he always challenged you, always made you better. He doesn't take a shift off, always 100%. Now that I'm fortunate enough to play with him, I love him."
!

CALVIN de HAAN:

"When you play in the East, you don't really appreciate those players. I played against Ovechkin and Crosby all the time (with Hurricanes), I was in their division. But Jonny, his reputation and resume speaks for itself.
"He was the pinnacle player in that position for a long time. Those guys don't necessarily get all the glory and the accolades of scoring points all season and winning Art Ross and Hart Trophies, but those are your glue guys on a team for sure. You need a strong centerman to win Cups. Would the Hawks have won three Cups without him? Who knows. Maybe, maybe not. Probably not. He was an integral part of those teams and the organization for so many years and he still is."
!

KEVIN LANKINEN:

"I think he's just one of those guys that you love to have on your team. He's just so reliable. You can put him out there anytime you need a goal or you've got to protect the lead, kill a penalty or whatever it takes. He will always step up. I think he has shown that throughout his career that he's so consistent, especially in situations where it takes the most. He's always stepped up and his resume speaks for itself."
