Ahead of the second of four away games, Jarred Tinordi talks about coming back from his injury this season. The defenseman returned to the lineup on Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets for his first game since Dec. 18.

Heading into the matchup, Tinordi's felt that he put a lot more pressure on himself after being out over a month. Instead of focusing on how long he sat out for, he focused on how he can improve and go into every shift.
"I put a lot of pressure on myself, but I think it's I think it's just important to play [my game] because I try not to think about the injury or try not to think about how long have I've been out, and at the end of the day hockey is still hockey," Tinordi said. "I think I you do your best to kind of put everything like that out of your mind, and just focus on one shift at a time and that's what I was trying to do."
Going into the tough stretch of the season and being on the road, getting players back from injury helps to bring positives.
In his first game back, Tinordi stepped out onto the ice without the face shield following his facial injury and later got into a fight with Jets' forward Adam Lowry in the third period. Head coach Luke Richardson praised the 6-foot-6 defenseman for his comeback and still showing how physical he can be.
"[Tinordi] came back last game was excellent," Richardson said. "He got a big hit, [and just coming] back from two facial surgeries to show the, you know, the guts to do that. I think [he has] responded really well."
In Saturday's game, he tallied four hits and two blocks in his first apperance back. Following his momentum started in the third period, Tinordi thought the shifts started to come together and hopes to build off what he created.
"Last game was just, stringing together one good shift after another and kind of building from there," Tinordi said.
