Blackhawks prospect Philipp Kurashev has been signed to an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO) by the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Kurashev, 19, is coming off an impressive third season in the QMJHL, where he compiled a team-high 65 points (29G, 36A) in 59 games for Quebec. Serving as an alternate captain for the Remparts, Kurashev was far and away the leading scorer in the regular season and then added a goal and four assists in seven playoff games.
The forward was selected in the fourth round, 120th overall, of the 2018 NHL Draft. He was a standout at the World Juniors tournament earlier this year, leading the tournament with six goals in seven games for the Swiss team.
Kurashev joins a Rockford team that is battling for a playoff spot. Earlier on Thursday, the Blackhawks re-assigned defenseman Dennis Gilbert to the club and the IceHogs also signed defenseman Dmitry Osipov to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO).
