ST. PAUL -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild and Greater Twin Cities United Way today announced a school supply drive will be held at Saturday's Wild game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Xcel Energy Center at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

United Way volunteers will collect school supplies at all Xcel Energy Center gates prior to Saturday's game against Tampa Bay. The school supplies will benefit United Way Action Day 2019. Action Day is an all-ages, family-friendly volunteer event that helps Twin Cities kids go back to school with all the supplies they need to learn, succeed and reach their full potential. The Minnesota Wild and Xcel Energy Center will host Action Day 2019 next August.
Fans are asked to bring the following items to the school supply drive on Oct. 20 at Xcel Energy Center: crayons, colored pencils, glue sticks, markers, notebooks and rulers.
United Way connects people and resources within our community to challenge and change systems -- like Minnesota's education and jobs gap -- that limit our potential.
The Minnesota Wild is also holding Educator Appreciation Night on Saturday. Tickets to Educator Appreciation Night start at $75 and include a special edition t-shirt. In addition, a $5 donation will be made for every ticket sold to the
Education Minnesota Foundation
. A limited number of tickets remain for Educator Appreciation Night. To purchase tickets, please visit
