SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild, in partnership with Minnesota Hockey, today announced it will host the first-ever Mite Holiday Jamboree on Dec. 27-28 at Xcel Energy Center. Boys and girls teams from across the State of Hockey are invited to participate in this inaugural event.

"This is going to be a fantastic two days of Mite hockey for kids all over Minnesota," said Minnesota Hockey Executive Director Glen Andresen. "It is so great to see the NHL, and in particular the Minnesota Wild, promote the benefits of small-area games for our players. Hockey is always supposed to be fun and that will be guaranteed at the Mite Holiday Jamboree."
The jamboree is open to a total of 16 age 8 & Under youth teams and 16 age 8 & Under girls teams. Age 6 & Under and Mini-Mite teams are not eligible. Participating teams will play three, 30-minute cross-ice games on the home ice of the Minnesota Wild. Each mite team will play two games on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and one game on Wednesday, Dec. 28.
In addition, all participating teams are invited to watch the Minnesota Wild practice scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Xcel Energy Center, and meet Wild mascot Nordy, who will make an appearance during that time.
