SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League signed defenseman Zach Bogosian to a two-year, $2,500,000 contract extension ($1,250,000 average annual value) that goes through the 2025-26 season.

Bogosian, 33 (7/15/1990), has collected nine points (1-8=9), 43 penalty minutes (PIM), 51 blocked shots, 80 hits, and a plus-three rating in 43 games with Minnesota this season. He ranks fifth on Minnesota in blocked shots and sixth in PIM and hits. He began the season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he skated in four games prior to being acquired by Minnesota on Nov. 8, 2023, in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

The 6-foot-3, 231-pound native of Massena, N.Y., has recorded 222 points (58-164=222), 758 PIM, 1,118 blocked shots and 1,1512 hits in 830 career games over 16 NHL seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers (2008-11), Winnipeg Jets (2011-15), Buffalo Sabres (2014-20), Toronto Maple Leafs (2020-21) and Tampa Bay (2019-20, 2021-24). In 54 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, Bogosian has tallied nine points (0-9=9), 23 PIM, 48 blocked shots and 118 hits, and won a Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2020. He was originally selected by Atlanta with the third overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft.
