Minnesota Wild to hold bottled water drive at home opener Oct. 14

ST. PAUL -- The National Hockey League's (NHL) Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, H2O for Life, and iHeartRadio, announced today that the team will hold a bottled water drive on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the Minnesota Wild home opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center.
Fans are encouraged to bring bottled water to aid the American Red Cross in local disaster relief efforts.

All fans who make a bottled water donation will receive a 15% discount at The Hockey Lodge retail store. Additionally, the first 500 fans will receive a Water Warrior pen courtesy of H2O for Life.
H2O for Life helps teachers and students throughout the United States raise awareness about the
global water crisis
while taking action to provide funds for a water, sanitation, and hygiene education project for a partner school in the developing world.
High school hockey players from St. Cloud High School, St. Cloud Cathedral High School and the St. Cloud Icebreakers will accept bottled water donations on Kellogg Boulevard near Gate 1. Fans can make a donation without leaving their car by driving westbound on Kellogg Boulevard and using a special drive-thru lane.
American Red Cross volunteers will also be accepting cash donations at all five gate locations prior to the game. Cash donations will be used by the American Red Cross for national disaster relief efforts.
St. Cloud will play St. Cloud Cathedral in a boy's high school hockey game as part of the 12th Annual Hockey Day Minnesota presented by Wells Fargo at Lake George in downtown St. Cloud on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m.
The weekend will kick-off with a girl's high school hockey game between the St. Cloud Icebreakers and Sartell/Sauk Rapids on Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a St. Cloud State alumni hockey game.
