2021 Little Wild Learn To Play Program registration opens May 24

ST. PAUL --The Minnesota Wild, in partnership with Hy-Vee, Inc., Minnesota Hockey, CCM, Pure Hockey, the NHL, and the NHLPA announced today that registration for the 2021 Little Wild Learn To Play Program will open at 10 a.m. CT on Monday, May 24 at

. The 2021 Little Wild Learn To Play Program is scheduled to visit 20 locations across the State of Hockey.

The Little Wild Learn To Play Program, presented by Hy-Vee, is for first-time boys and girls hockey players. Eligible participants must be between the ages of 5-8 as of Sept. 1, 2021. The maximum number of participants per location is 60, but that number is subject to change based on guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health.
The program is intended for children who have not participated in organized youth hockey programs before or are planning to participate for the first time during the 2021-22 season. Children who have previously participated in the Little Wild Program are not eligible to participate again. Those in violation of this rule will not be able to participate and their registration fees will not be refunded.
For $150, participants will receive four, one-hour on-ice sessions led by the Minnesota Hockey American Development Model team and a full set of CCM hockey equipment. Kids who do not have skating experience are encouraged to take skating lessons prior to their first Little Wild on-ice session if possible. Keith Ballard, NHL Alumni Learn to Play Local Manager, will assist with on-ice instruction and provide guidance for first-time hockey parents at as many locations as possible. The length of the on-ice sessions and the number of participants at each location are subject to change based on guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health.
All equipment fittings for the 2021 Little Wild Program will be held in person at a Pure Hockey location if CDC guidelines allow for it. If CDC guidelines do not allow for in person equipment fittings, they will be done online. Registered participants will receive more information about equipment fitting and ordering information this summer.
All participants will be invited to attend a preseason Minnesota Wild game at Xcel Energy Center during the 2021-22 season. Little Wild participants will each receive a FREE ticket to the game and have the option to purchase additional tickets through a special ticket offer.
