With the 138th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Stars selected Jack Bar on Saturday from Chicago of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman recorded 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 34 regular-season games for the USHL's Clark Cup champion Steel.

In 2019-20, the Newmarket, Ontario native was named St. Andrew's College Defenseman of the Year after setting a school record for points by a blueliner in a single season with 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) in 49 games.

Bar, the No. 41-ranked North American skater in NHL Central Scouting's final rankings, committed to Harvard University for the 2021-22 season.
