Calgary Flames at Dallas Stars
About the Stars

The Stars (35-23-4) lost 5-3 to Winnipeg on Saturday at American Airlines Center. The Stars scored 10 seconds into the game and led 1-0 after one period, but the Jets scored five straight goals in the second to take control of the game. The Stars fell to 0-3-0 against the Jets this season.
"They've beat us, what, three times now. We've got work to do, and I think we know it," said Stars defenseman Marc Methot. "If anything, it's maybe another learning experience for us as a group. They're one of the best teams in the NHL, and you want to measure up to that team and know that you belong and again, like I said, we've got to get better, and I think it's a good wake-up call for this group."
The loss was the fourth in the last six games (2-4-0) for the Stars who are in the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference. They are one point ahead of Calgary.
The Stars did not make any moves before Monday's NHL trade deadline.
The Stars recalled forward Jason Dickinson from Texas of the AHL late Monday afternoon.
Ben Bishop will get the start in goal Tuesday.
Tuesday is the second of a five-game homestand for the Stars.
Injuries: C Martin Hanzal (lower body) is out.

About the Flames

The Flames (32-22-9) won 5-1 over Colorado in Calgary on Saturday. Mikael Backlund tallied one goal and two assists for the Flames, who won their second consecutive game following a three-game slide.
"For us right now it's just stringing games together," Flames captain Mark Giordano said. "There's enough time where if you win your games that you're supposed to, you'll get in. We've got to take care of our own business, get a little streak going."
The Flames were in the second wild-card spot through Sunday, one point behind the Stars and just two points out of second place in the Pacific Division.
F Micheal Ferland missed Saturday's game with an upper-body injury. He did not practice Monday and is doubtful for Tuesday.
The Flames claimed forward Chris Stewart off waivers from Minnesota Monday. The Flames also acquired center Nick Shore from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a seventh-round pick in 2019 before Monday's NHL trade deadline.
Tuesday opens a two-game road trip for the Flames and is the front end of a back-to-back. They play at Colorado on Wednesday.
Injuries:F Michael Ferland (upper body) is doubtful. F Kris Versteeg (hip), F Marek Hrivik (undisclosed), F Mike Smith (lower body) are on injured reserve.
