As excitement builds for one of the most anticipated seasons of San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) hockey in recent memory, fans returning to SAP Center at San Jose (@sapcenter) this season will discover a variety of new experiences both inside and outside The Shark Tank.
From the excitement of seeing Macklin Celebrini lead the Sharks as the NHL's youngest active captain to new food and beverage destinations, exclusive merchandise and continued improvements throughout SAP Center, the 2026-27 NHL season will deliver new experiences for fans both on and off the ice.
While a talented and exciting young Sharks roster takes the ice this season, fans will also notice several new additions and improvements throughout SAP Center.
WHAT'S NEW FOR 2026-27
Opening Weekend Returns to The Tank
The 2026-27 NHL season begins with Opening Weekend celebrations on October 1 and October 3, featuring special pregame entertainment, enhanced in-arena presentation elements and a variety of fan activations throughout SAP Center.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to experience all of the festivities surrounding the opening of a new season in Sharks Territory.
Arena Reimagination Enhancements Continue
Building on the ongoing reimagination of SAP Center, several new enhancements will debut for Opening Night:
New South Bar: Located at the top of the south entrance escalators, the new South Bar offers a centralized gathering space featuring eight points of sale, draft beer selections and frozen adult beverages while introducing fans to the arena's evolving "Turn It All Teal" design aesthetic.
Tenders Love & Chicken (TLC): A new TLC concession location on the main concourse brings additional grab-and-go convenience and expanded menu offerings to one of the arena's busiest areas.
Guest Experience Center Relocation: The Guest Experience Center has been moved to a more visible and accessible location adjacent to the South Bar, improving wayfinding, guest services and overall concourse flow.
Infrastructure Investments: Fans will benefit from a completed arena-wide Wi-Fi upgrade and continued facility improvements, including newly upgraded elevators designed to improve reliability and accessibility throughout SAP Center.
Reimagined Team Store Coming This Fall
The Sharks are preparing to unveil a completely reimagined Sharks Pro Shop experience later this season.
Targeted to open in late November, the new store will be approximately three times larger than the current location and directly accessible from the main concourse. The expanded footprint will allow for a broader merchandise selection, new product offerings and an enhanced shopping experience for fans. Located directly above the new store will be a large media screen designed to enhance the fan video and digital experience as guests enter SAP Center.
Additional details regarding the grand opening will be announced at a later date. Until then, the current Sharks Pro Shop, located on the arena level, will remain open.
The Teal Reimagination of SAP Center is a multi-phase effort designed to elevate the fan experience and further establish the venue as a premier destination for sports and entertainment. As construction and enhancements continue throughout the season and beyond, some projects may remain in progress or require temporary adjustments in certain areas. We appreciate our fans' patience and support as we invest in the future of SAP Center and San Jose, and we will continue to communicate updates while ensuring an exceptional experience at Sharks games and events during the progress.
