San Jose Sharks ( General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has signed forward Mason Marchment to a five-year contract worth $6.75 million AAV.
Marchment, 31, appeared in 68 total games between the Seattle Kraken and Columbus Blue Jackets, scoring 45 points (19 goals, 26 assists). He registered 13 points in 29 games for the Kraken before being traded to Columbus on Dec. 19, 2025. In 37 games with Columbus, he registered 32 points along with seven multi-point games, including a hat trick on Jan. 24 vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning. After his acquisition through the end of the regular season, he led Columbus in plus/minus (plus-21), was second in goals (15, tied), and was fifth in points.
Over the course of his NHL career, he has recorded 234 points (95 goals, 139 assists) in 370 career games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Panthers, Stars, Kraken, and Blue Jackets. He currently has recorded at least 10 goals or more in five straight seasons, including 40 or more points in three consecutive years, and four in the past five. In the postseason, he has appeared in 59 total player games, scoring 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) with the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars, helping the Stars reach the Western Conference Final in three consecutive seasons (2023-25).
Prior to his NHL career, Marchment played in the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Toronto Marlies and Springfield Thunderbirds, appearing in 130 career games, and scoring 72 points (38 goals, 34 assists). In the 2017-18 season, he helped the Marlies win the Calder Cup, posting nine points (six goals, three assists) across 20 games, including what stood as the series clinching goal in a 6-1 win in Game 7 over the Texas Stars.
The six-foot-five, 212-pound native of Uxbridge, Ontario was originally signed by Toronto on Mar. 17, 2018.
