PROSPECT OF THE WEEK:
- Quentin Musty (Sudbury, OHL) was named Sharks Prospect of the Week presented by Kaiser Permanente and OHL Top Performers of the Week for this week. He ranks fourth on Sudbury in scoring despite appearing in only 31 games, leading the team in scoring per game (1.74 P/GP).
- Carson Wetsch (Calgary, WHL) was named Sharks Prospect of the Week presented by Kaiser Permanente on Mar. 6. Wetsch has seven points (5g, 2a) in his past 10 games played. He hit the 30-goal mark for the first time in his WHL career on Mar. 2 after logging his second-career hat-trick, first of the season, with Calgary in the 7-0 victory against Kelowna.
- Mattias Hävelid (Djurgårdens IF, HockeyAllsvenskan) was named Sharks Prospect of the Week presented by Kaiser Permanente on Feb. 26. He closed out the regular season collecting 14 points (2g, 12 a) in 18 games played with Djurgårdens IF. He notched his first and second goal with his team in the final game of the regular season in a 6-2 win over Kalmar HC on Mar. 7.
BARRACUDA
- Zack Ostapchuk has split this season with Ottawa and Belleville (AHL) prior to being acquired via trade by San Jose on Mar. 7. In 43 games with the Ottawa, he posted four points (1g, 3a). With Belleville, he had 11 points (2g, 9a) in 15 games.
- Carl Berglund was acquired in the Jake Walman deal on Mar. 7. Berglund posted 12 points (2g, 10a) in 45 games with Bakersfield Condors. In three seasons in the AHL, he has tallied three goals and 13 assists in 63 games played.
- Georgi Romanov was recalled by the San Jose Sharks for the first this season on Mar. 5. Prior to recall, Romanov set a career high in wins (11) in the AHL and logged a .905 save percentage across 21 appearances with the Barracuda.
- Gabriel Carriere logged his first-career AHL shutout, stopping 35 pucks, in the 3-0 victory at Abbotsford on Mar. 7 in the same day after inking a one-year, two-way contract with the San Jose Sharks. Carriere ranked tied for third among ECHL netminders in shutouts.
- Thomas Bordeleau collected his 100th AHL point, logging his 18th assist of his campaign on Mar. 5 against the San Diego Gulls. He has recorded 15 points (7g, 8a) over the last 15 games, dating back to Feb. 7
- Danil Gushchin collected his first AHL hat-trick in the 6-5 victory over the Henderson Silver Knights in overtime (Mar. 2). Gushchin now has 15 points (11g, 4a) in his past 14 games played, including notching goals in four of his past seven games.
- Luca Cagnoni is tied for second among AHL defensemen in scoring (42) and is tied for first for the rookie lead.
- Andrew Poturalski matched a Barracuda franchise record with five points (1g, 4a) in the overtime win against Henderson Silver Knights (Mar. 2). He leads the AHL in scoring with 61 points, logging 24 goals and 37 assists.
PROSPECT NOTABLES – NORTH AMERICA
- Joe Carroll (Wichita, ECHL) is riding a season-long seven-game point streak, logging five goals and eight assists in that span. Carroll ranks fourth among his team in goals (19), fifth in points (35), and eighth in assists (16).
- Nolan Burke (Wichita, ECHL) reached the 30-point mark for the first time in his ECHL career, tallying an assist on Mar. 1 against Kansas City. Burke leads Thunder U-23 skaters across all scoring categories (12g, 18a).
- Mitchell Russell (Wichita, ECHL) was assigned to the Wichita Thunder on Mar. 7. Russell has appeared in 32 games with the Thunder this season, logging nine goals and seven assists.
- Joey Muldowney (UConn, HE) finished the regular season setting career highs across all scoring categories, logging 39 points, 22 goals, and 17 assists across 34 games played with UConn. He finished ranked first among his team in goals (22), tied for first in points (39), and third in assists (17). His goals production this season ranked sixth among NCAA skaters.
- Cameron Lund (Northeastern, HE) set career highs in goals (16), points (35), and matched his best assist total (19) at the collegiate level in 34 games played with Northeastern. Lund has now recorded 30-point seasons in consecutive campaigns (2023-25).
- Eric Pohlkamp (Denver, NCHC) posted a career-high four-point game (1g, 3a) at the NCAA level in the 4-1 victory against Colorado College. Pohlkamp finished the regular season ranked tied for fourth on his team in points (31), tied for seventh in assists (23), and tied for eighth in goals (8).
- Reese Laubach (Penn State, Big 10) posted career highs across all scoring categories, tallying 30 points, 15 goals, and 15 assists. Among Penn State skaters in the regular season, Laubach finished tied for second in goals and tied for third in points.
- Sam Dickinson (London, OHL) has logged 21 points (5g, 16a) in his past 13 games played, including a goal in three of his past six games, with London. Dickinson ranks second in points (79), goals (25), and third in assists (54) among OHL blueliners this season. Dickinson has surpassed all his personal-best scoring totals this campaign in 50 games played.
- Igor Chernyshov (Saginaw, OHL) has posted 21 points (6g, 15a) in his past 10 games played, including scoring a goal in three consecutive games from Mar. 2-6. He ranks fifth in assists (27), seventh in points (44), and tied for seventh in goals (17) among Saginaw skaters this season.
- Nate Misskey (Victoria, WHL) has logged assists in six of his past nine games played (0g, 8a) with Victoria. Misskey ranks second among Victoria blueliners in points (44), assists (35), and third in goals (9). All scoring categories for Misskey this season are a career high.
PROSPECT NOTABLES – INTERNATIONAL
- Yaroslav Korostelyov (SKA-1946, MHL) leads his team in wins (17), goals against average (1.55), and second in save percentage (.933). He also leads his team in shutout wins with four, which is tied for sixth among MHL netminders this season.
- Yegor Rimashevsky (Dynamo Moskva, KHL) set a career high in goals (6) on Mar. 1 against Kunlun Red Star and matched his personal best in points (14) at the KHL level after logging his eighth assist of the season on Mar. 7 against Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. He is now one assist shy from matching his career high set this past season with Dynamo Moskva.
- Leo Sahlin Wallenius (Växjö Lakers HC, SHL) posted a season-long three-game point streak (1g, 3a) from Feb. 25 through Mar. 1, including notching his first goal of the season with Växjö Lakers HC on Feb. 27 against Rögle BK.
