Tonight's matchup

20210315 Capitlas Sabres Game Night Mediawall outlet

Following Saturday night's 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Sabres find themselves in a 10-game winless streak. They're 0-8-2 and have been outscored 41-17.
Since returning from a two-week COVID-related hiatus on February 15, Buffalo is 2-12-2 and has been shut out four times.
The team will be without captain Jack Eichel for the "foreseeable future" as he recovers from an upper-body injury. Rookie center Dylan Cozens is still considered day-to-day after sustaining an upper-body injury on Thursday; he did not play Saturday.
Washington is 17-6-4 on the season with 38 points, which is good for second place in the East Division. They're four point behind the first-place New York Islanders with two games in hand. Washington is 8-1-1 over the team's last 10 games. Nicklas Backstrom leads the club with 30 points (10+20).
The Capitals lead the season series 4-0-1.
