Laaksonen named to AHL's North Division All-Star Team

Rochester Americans defenseman Oskari Laaksonen has been named to the AHL North Division All-Star Team, the league announced Wednesday.
Laaksonen, a third-round draft pick by the Sabres in 2017, signed his entry-level contract last offseason. He appeared in all but one game for the Amerks during his first North American campaign and scored two goals while ranking fourth among AHL rookie defensemen with a team-high 15 assists.

"It was a great, great year for me just to have a soft slide into North American hockey," Laaksonen told Amerks.com after the season. "I enjoyed it a lot."
The 21-year-old began the season with Lahti of the Finnish Elite League, where he tallied 12 points (4+8) in 20 games.
