Less than 24 hours after falling to Minnesota, the Nashville Predators get a chance at redemption tonight as they host the Wild at Bridgestone Arena to conclude a home-and-home set with their Central Division rival.
It's the final game of the 2017 calendar year for Nashville, with an opportunity to retake first in the division with a win over the club that defeated them 4-2 on Friday night. The Predators almost completed a comeback to send the first half of the home-and-home to overtime, but a slow start did the Preds in, something they'll look to correct this evening.
"We're disappointed in ourselves tonight because we worked our butts off the last 40 minutes and did a lot of good things, but it was kind of a waste because we weren't ready at the start of the game," Preds center Ryan Johansen said. "We'll learn from it tonight. The great thing is we play the same guys tomorrow, so we'll be ready to go and we're excited to get back out there on the ice. We wish it was right now."

The Opposition:
Minnesota's 4-2 win over the Preds on Friday was their second-straight victory by a 4-2 count to give them 43 points on the season. Zucker also has 15 goals to his name, while Granlund now has 11 after his hat trick on Friday. Dubnyk collected his 13th win of the season on Friday; Alex Stalock is 7-7-1 in 14 starts.
All-Time Meetings:
The Predators are 31-24-5-8 all-time against the Wild, including a 18-9-2-4 record at Bridgestone Arena. Nashville has earned at least a point in four of their last five home games versus the Wild. In the first meeting between the two teams this season, the Preds fell to the Wild, 6-4, on Nov. 16. Nashville jumped out to a 4-2 lead, but four Minnesota goals in the third period propelled the Wild to victory.
