To enhance the accessibility of the sport in South Florida, the Panthers have introduced educational and athletic programs designed to familiarize the community with hockey. The organization has worked closely with South Florida educators to introduce floorball, a safer version of street hockey, into local schools' physical education programs. Through their "Learn To Play" program, the Panthers provide families with an affordable way to get their kids on the ice to gain expert coaching from certified hockey instructors.
The Panthers have partnered with six local rinks dedicated to growing the sport of hockey at the grassroots level (Palm Beach Ice Works in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Skate Zone in Lake Worth, Glacier Ice & Snow Arena in Pompano Beach, Florida Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs,Pines Ice Arena in Pembroke Pines, and Kendall Ice Arena in Kendall). "Inside The Panthers" toured each facility to learn what makes them unique and to meet the dedicated coaches and hockey directors who bring their passion for the game to kids of all ages and skill levels. Together with the Panthers, these rinks are building a bright future for the game in the tri-county area.
