"Everything is on track exactly where it should be," Tippett said. "Hopefully he's ready to jump on the ice (at the) first practice on Monday."
Tippett also said Domi likely would play in a game within two weeks after his first practice.
Domi has notched five goals and 11 assists in 26 games this season, his second in the NHL.
• Mike Smith made 19 saves on Thursday night to earn his first shutout of the season, the 31st of his career and his 20th with the Coyotes.
Arizona beat Vancouver, 3-0, at Gila River Arena.
Smith, who will represent the team at the NHL All-Star Game this weekend, is one shutout shy of tying the franchise record held by Nikolai Khabibulin and Ilya Bryzgalov (21).
"He didn't get a lot of work tonight, but he made some keys saves at the right time," Tippett said after Thursday's game. "That was a big part of the game."
• The Coyotes allowed zero shots on goal in the first period. It's the second time they've accomplished that feat and the first time since Dec. 2, 1999 vs. Tampa Bay.
"It was pretty boring there for a period and a half," Smith said. "But I think that just goes to show about what we did in front of me tonight. I think a lot of credit goes to our group. We really wanted to win this game ... We were due for a game like this."
