Wedgewood has stopped 91 of 93 shots since making his NHL debut in a 2-1 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 20.
"I don't think there is any reason we would take him out," Devils coach John Hynes said. "He's played well. He's been consistent."
Cam Ward starts in goal for the Hurricanes, who are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday. Eddie Lack made 27 saves.
The Hurricanes will be without forward Riley Nash, who collided with the net in overtime Saturday. Michal Jordan draws into the lineup as a seventh defensemen. Coach Bill Peters said he might have one of them skate as a forward.
Peters said he expects more from some of his forwards. After the loss to the Islanders, he said some players had more to give. His message did not change Sunday afternoon.
"Ice time is going to be doled out based on who is playing well and playing hard," Peters said. "Guys who earn their shifts are going to get shifts. Guys who don't, won't play."
