Nathan MacKinnon buried his third goal of the season at the 7:08 mark to put the Avalanche ahead, 1-0. Late in the second, Max Pacioretty potted his eighth goal of the year to tie the game at 1-1, but Brandon Saad's quick answer rebuilt the Colorado lead. Jonathan Marchessault cleaned up a scramble in front of the Avalanche net to knot the score at 2-2. With 40 seconds left in the game, Nazem Kadri delivered the game-winning goal.
