Tyler-Bertuzzi

DETROIT-- Tyler Bertuzzi was placed in NHL COVID-19 protocol on Wednesday.

The Detroit Red Wings forward missed a 4-3 shootout win against the Seattle Kraken.
Bertuzzi, who is not vaccinated for COVID-19, will be in protocol for 10 days, Detroit coach Jeff Blashill said.
"I understand he's feeling fine," Blashill said.
Bertuzzi would miss four additional games and could next be able to play Dec. 14 against the New York Islanders, who this past week had two games postponed because of the number of their players in protocol.
Bertuzzi had to miss three games earlier this season because of Canada vaccine mandates. Detroit lost each of those games, two to the Montreal Canadiens and one to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"It's his decision," Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman said prior to the season. "I'm getting cliche now, but that's the world we live in today and I'm not in a position to force anyone. We can't force anyone to get vaccinated. I personally am vaccinated. My family is vaccinated. I'll leave it at that."
Bertuzzi has been a regular on Detroit's top line with Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond, and is third on the Red Wings with 18 points (nine goals, nine assists).
Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser also is in the protocol.
