Ross Johnston signed a three-year, $6 million contract with the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday. It has an average annual value of $2 million.

The 32-year-old forward had an NHL career-high 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 62 regular-season games for the Anaheim Ducks last season and led the team with 192 hits. He had no points in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Signed by the New York Islanders as an undrafted free agent March 31, 2015, Johnston has 46 points (14 goals, 32 assists) in 307 regular-season games for the Islanders and Ducks and no points in 10 playoff games. 

St. Louis also signed forward Jonatan Berggren to a one-year, $2 million contract on Wednesday. Claimed off waivers from the Detroit Red Wings on Dec. 16, Berggren had 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 51 games last season, including 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 36 games with St. Louis.

Berggren has 80 points (37 goals, 43 assists) in 205 regular-season games for the Red Wings and Blues.
