Nikita Grebenkin signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. It has an average annual value of $1.1 million.
The 23-year-old forward had 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 55 games with the Flyers last season. He missed the final 13 games of the regular season and all 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games for Philadelphia with an upper-body injury.
“He's still going through a process,” Flyers general manager Daniel Briere said of Grebenkin’s status during the NHL Scouting Combine in June. “We still don't know, and he's got to go through a few more weeks to see if things ease off on him, on his injury. He's the only one for me that's a little bit of a question mark. We still are not sure exactly where it's trending.”
Selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round (No. 135) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Grebenkin was traded to Philadelphia by Toronto with a conditional first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft for Scott Laughton, a fourth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft and a sixth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft on March 7, 2025.
Grebenkin has 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 62 NHL games for the Maple Leafs and Flyers.
