PK PERFECTION
During the Jets four game win streak, it has been hard to ignore the penalty kill. At the start of the win streak, they were down 1-0 to Vancouver and then the Canucks had two power plays in the opening period. The Jets shut them down and won 4-2. New Year's eve in Edmonton, they contained the league's top power play on five opportunities. Friday night in Winnipeg, another outstanding power play was in town with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and again, with the Jets leading in the third period, they blanked Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov and company to win 4-2. Scott Arniel has done an outstanding job with the PK and the Jets continue to reap the rewards with it.

SLOWLY WORKING THEIR WAY BACK
Blake Wheeler, Nikolaj Ehlers, Cole Perfetti and Nate Schmidt all played Friday after long absences and while their timing was off at times, they all made contributions to the win. Things will only get better with more games, but it was nice to see the team getting closer to full health. Saku Maenalanen skated in a light blue jersey on Saturday and took contact for the first time. Mason Appleton has yet to return to the ice with his teammates.
BE AWARE OF THE CANUCKS
Time is running out for the Canucks in the Western Conference playoff picture as they are eight points out of the final wild card spot. Now, Vancouver has four games in hand on the eighth place Oilers, but the wins have to start coming and soon. With that in mind, the Canucks will be a desperate squad here this afternoon and Winnipeg will have to make sure to not allow the visitors to have a solid first period.
