REPEAT PERFORMANCE
Despite the fact the Jets have yet to record a point against the Sharks, there was nothing wrong with the way Winnipeg played the last time the teams met at Canada Life Centre. San Jose didn't generate much back on March 3rd but tied the game with 10 seconds left in the third period before winning in overtime. In the 3-0 loss in northern California, the Jets had plenty of high-quality scoring chances, but James Reimer was brilliant. Reimer is 2-0 with a .975 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average against Winnipeg this season and has a .887 save percentage and 3.49 goals against average in his other appearances.
"They're obviously opportunistic. Their goalie has obviously made some big saves against us in the two games," said Morgan Barron.
"Obviously the Karlsson's and some of the guys they have over there, it seems like you can't give them much or they take advantage of their opportunities. That's probably the biggest thing I've noticed over the two games."
100 POINT WATCH
Even though San Jose has been out of the playoff race for quite some time now, it does not take away from the special campaign that Erik Karlsson is having. The Swedish defenceman sits with 98 points with three games remaining in the season. Karlsson can become the first Swedish born defenceman in NHL history to reach 100 points and the first blueliner since 1991-92 (the Rangers Brian Leetch) to reach the century mark. In league history, there have been 14 - 100-point campaigns by defencemen, Bobby Orr (6x), Paul Coffey (5x), Al MacInnis, Leetch and Denis Potvin.
