COLUMBUS -- Daniil Tarasov made 24 saves, and Andrew Peeke had four assists for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 7-0 win against the St. Louis Blues at Nationwide Arena on Thursday.
Zach Werenski, Yegor Chinakhov, Jakub Voracek and Justin Danforth each had a goal and an assist for Columbus. Thomas Greiss allowed seven goals on 31 shots in 49:21 for St. Louis. Joel Hofer made two saves in relief. The Blue Jackets scored three goals in the first period to take a 3-0 lead. Patrik Laine poked in a loose puck at 1:03 to make it 1-0, Chinakhov scored his fifth goal of the preseason for a 2-0 lead at 12:03, and Jack Roslovic scored short-handed at 13:56 to make it 3-0. Werenski scored off a pass from Johnny Gaudreau to make it 4-0 at 5:30 of the second period, and Voracek extended it to 5-0 at 12:33. Cole Sillinger scored playing 6-on-5 on a delayed penalty 6:00 into the third period to push the lead to 6-0 before Danforth made it 7-0 at 9:21. Blue Jackets defenseman Erik Gudbranson (lower body) sat out for precautionary reasons. The game started 30 minutes late because of travel issues for the Blues.
