NEW YORK - Detroit Red Wings forward Steve Ott has been fined $2,222.22, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for spearing Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara during NHL Game No. 115 in Detroit on Saturday, Oct. 29, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 0:12 of the first period.

The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
