The Blackhawks made it a winning trip East on Sunday night, taking a 3-2 shootout win over the New York Islanders, improving to a 2-1 record on the three-game stint before heading back to Chicago.
Marc-Andre Fleury nearly perfect on the night, stopping 22 shots and all three shootout attempts en route to his seventh win of the season and No. 499 for his career. Brandon Hagel and Dylan Strome found the net at the other end in regulation as Chicago improved to 9-13-2 on the year.

At the tail end of the game's opening power play, the Blackhawks opened the scoring as Brandon Hagel, who drew the minor, scored his fourth in the last seven games. Seth Jones tee'd up Alex DeBrincat at the top of the left circle for a one-timer that Hagel deflected in front while screening Semyon Varlamov for a 1-0 lead.

The Islanders answered with a power-play tally of their own the first opportunity of the night for the home team. Jean-Gabriel Pageau tipped home a Sebastian Aho shot from the point through traffic in front of Marc-Andre Fleury for a 1-1 score.

3rd - 5:59 - Dylan Strome (Alex DeBrincat, Erik Gustafsson)

Chicago re-gained the lead early in the third period as Dylan Strome netted his second goal of the season fresh off the bench in a rush. Walking down the boards off a zone entry, Erik Gustafsson sent a puck into the slot for Alex DeBrincat, but the winger was tied up in front and the puck deflected to the far side of the ice for Strome joining the rush. The forward put a quick shot up high and found twine for a 2-1 lead.

3rd - 19:56 - Noah Dobson (Matthew Barzal, Anders Lee)

With the extra attacker on, the Islanders found the equalizer just a shade over three ticks to play on the clock as Noah Dobson put a blast from distance through traffic in front for a 2-2 score.
