VS. FLORIDA

Chicago and Florida match up for the first time this season in the first of two meetings.
The Blackhawks and Panthers played in the same division during the 2020-21 campaign. Chicago won two of the eight contests and took home at least a point in four. Dominik Kubalik paced the club with four goals and Patrick Kane led Chicago with 10 points. Kubalik had a point in six of his final seven games against the Panthers last season, including a season-high tying three points (1G, 2A) on Jan. 19. Kane had a point in all eight games against Florida last year and has recorded a point (7G, 9A) in 13 of his last 14 games against the Panthers.

DOUBLE SHUTOUT

Both Marc-Andre Fleury and Dallas' Jake Oettinger posted shutouts in Friday's game after finishing reglation and overtime 0-0. Since shootouts were introduced during the 2005-06 season, Chicago has never previously entered a shootout after finishing regulation 0-0. The last time they finished a game 0-0 (after OT) was January 8, 2003, which ended in a tie game.
Fleury posted his fourth shutout of the season against the Stars. That total shares second in the NHL this season. With his 71st career shutout, he matched Lorne Chabot and Harry Lumley for 12th on the league's all-time list. Tony Esposito and Ed Belfour are next on the list with 76 career shutouts. Fleury has allowed one goal or fewer in three of his last four starts.

HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Patrick Kane notched his 35th assist of the season and 719th career helper in Thursday's contest against Columbus. His 719 assists tie Denis Savard for second most all-time in Blackhawks history. He trails only Stan Mikita (926) in career assists.
Kane's 35 assists this year are 13th in the league.

MARATHON MAN

Seth Jones appeared in a game-high 27:36 of total ice time on Friday against the Stars. He has played in 27 or more minutes in 21 games during the 2021-22 campaign. His 26:12 average TOI this season is a career high and fourth in the league. His previous season best came during the 2018-19 season when he averaged 25:49 of ice time per game.
