OTT@WSH: Oshie taps puck past Nilsson

At 10:33 of the second period in the Senators/Capitals game, the Situation Room initiated a video review to determine if the puck entered the Ottawa net in a legal fashion.

The Situation Room confirmed that the actions of Ottawa's Anders Nilsson knocked the net off the normal position of the goal posts as Washington's T.J Oshie's was shooting the puck into the Ottawa net. According to Rule 63.6 which states "In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the Referee may award a goal." Therefore, the Referee awarded a goal to Washington.
