The defenseman had 32 points (eight goals, 24 assists) in 71 games this season, averaging 21:04 of ice time per game. He left with 8:21 remaining in a 2-1 loss at the Montreal Canadiens on March 26 after taking a check from Zachary Bolduc and has missed the past four games. … Forward Mathieu Olivier (upper body) has also previously been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season. He had 26 points (15 goals, 11 assists) in 61 games. Columbus hosts the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; FDSNOH, SNW).

Detroit Red Wings

Justin Faulk is questionable to play for the Red Wings at the New York Rangers on Saturday (12:30 p.m. ET; ABC, SNP, SNW). The defenseman sustained a lower-body injury in a 4-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, leaving the game with 5:48 remaining in the second period. "Didn't skate today, he's getting treatments," Red Wings coach Todd McLellan said. "We are hoping he's going to be ready for tomorrow but I can't predict one way or the other so we'll see how he is in the morning." Faulk has three points (one goal, two assists) in 12 games since being acquired from the St. Louis Blues in a trade on March 6.

Anaheim Ducks

Cutter Gauthier will miss his second straight game for the Ducks against the Calgary Flames against the St. Louis Blues on Friday (10 p.m. ET; KMOV-TV, Matrix-MW, FDSNMW, Victory+, KCOP-13, SN, TVAS). The forward, who leads Anaheim with 38 goals and 65 points in 73 games, was injured in a 5-4 overtime loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. Defensemen Radko Gudas and Pavel Mintyukov will each miss his second straight game with a lower-body injury. "Everybody's status is (the same as) last game," coach Joel Quenneville said Friday. "They're out tonight and making a little progress. Cutter is moving better today. Tomorrow (against the Flames), he'd be questionable at best."

Buffalo Sabres

Sam Carrick is out week to week for the Sabres with a left arm injury, but he has not been ruled out for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, coach Lindy Ruff said on Thursday. The forward was injured in a fight with New York Islanders captain Anders Lee in the third period of a 4-3 win on Tuesday and did not play in a 4-1 loss at the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. He has 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) in 73 games this season, including five goals and one assist in 13 games with Buffalo since he was acquired in a trade with the Rangers on March 6. Washington Capitals
