Stutzle Pesce

There are three games on the NHL schedule for Monday, including one nationally televised in the United States and two in Canada. Here are five things to watch today, along with the complete game schedule.

Surging Senators

Tim Stutzle leads the Ottawa Senators into Prudential Center for a game against Nico Hischier and the New Jersey Devils (7 p.m. ET; MSGSN, NHLN, SN+, TVAS). Stutzle, the No. 3 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, leads the Senators (4-1-0) with eight points (four goals, four assists) that's helped them win four of five games to start a season for the first time since 2014-15. The 24-year-old forward can become the seventh player in team history to reach 10 points in their first six games, joining Marian Hossa (five games, 2000-01), Alexandre Daigle (five games, 1993-94), Brady Tkachuk (five games in 2022-23), Jason Spezza (six games in 2007-08 and 2005-06), Daniel Alfredsson (six games in 2005-06) and Dan Quinn (six games in 1995-96). Hischier, the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, scored NHL goals Nos. 200 and 201 in his 613th game, a 4-1 win for the Devils (2-2-0) against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday that made the captain the fifth Switzerland-born player to reach 200 and second-fastest behind Timo Meier (569).

Hot Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights look for their fifth straight win and to remain undefeated on the road (2-0-0) when they visit the Minnesota Wild at Grand Casino Arena (8 p.m. ET; Wild+, MINNHL, SCRIPPS). A power play that's scored at least one goal in the first six games has paced the Golden Knights (5-1-0), who scored twice on the man-advantage in a 2-1 overtime victory against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Vegas is tied with the Carolina Hurricanes for second with seven power-play goals and ranks fifth in power-play percentage (30.4 percent).

What a pair

The Wild (3-1-1) are paced by Kirill Kaprizov and Quinn Hughes. Kaprizov's six goals are in a five-way tie for first in the NHL after his hat trick helped Minnesota to a 4-1 win at the Florida Panthers on Saturday. Hughes is riding a season-opening five-game assist streak, and his seven points (two goals, five assists) are second on the Wild to Kaprizov's eight.

Olympic gold medalists go head-to-head

Tage Thompson, Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk face off when the Buffalo Sabres host the Florida Panthers at KeyBank Center (1 p.m. ET; MSGSN, NHLN, SN+, TVAS). Matthew Tkachuk is on a four-game point streak (three goals, one assist) and has goals in two straight games for Florida (2-1-2). Thompson has five points (three goals, two assists) in his past five for Buffalo (2-3-0). The three skaters were teammates when Team USA won a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

More power to them

The Panthers and Sabres are each struggling on the power play, with Florida last in the NHL (3.6 percent, 1-for-28) and Buffalo 30th (5.9 percent, 1-for-17). The Sabres, though, look to continue a trend that has them 6-for-15 (40.0 percent) in their past five games against the Panthers, who since the 2020-21 season are 14-5-0 at KeyBank Center, including 7-2-0 in their past nine visits.
