The game between the Blackhawks and the Winnipeg Jets scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 29 in Manitoba has been postponed for COVID-related reasons.
The NHL announced the postponement on Monday afternoon, the fifth postponed Blackhawks game in the last two-plus weeks, joining
Dec. 13 vs. Calgary
,
Dec. 21 vs. Florida
,
Dec. 23 vs. Dallas
and Tuesday's contest against Columbus
that was postponed on Sunday evening
.
All postponed games will be made up at a later date with the league announcing intent to schedule games during the previously-scheduled Olympic break in February. The NHL and NHLPA announced last week that
players would not be participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics
due to increasing COVID cases and a rising number of postponed games.
"We will begin utilizing available dates during the Feb. 6-22 window (originally contemplated to accommodate Olympic participation) to reschedule games that have been, or may yet be, postponed," commissioner Gary Bettman
said in a statement on Dec. 22
.
All postponed home game will be rescheduled and any tickets held for those games will automatically be valid for the respective new game date when it is announced. Ticketholders may contact [email protected] with any further questions.
