At 17:00 of the third period in the Rangers/Canadiens game, the Situation Room initiated a video review to examine whether New York's Kevin Hayes kicked the puck into the Montreal net. Video review determined that Hayes kicked the puck to his stick before it crossed the goal line. According to Rule 49.2 (iii), "A goal will be allowed when an attacking player kicks the puck and the puck deflects off his own stick and then into the net."Good goal New York.
