Status report
Perry could make his Canadiens debut after skating in Armia's spot in practice Friday and being promoted from the taxi squad Saturday. Byron didn't practice Friday and is a game-time decision after the forward was hit in the foot by a slap shot by Weber and leaving the game during Montreal's 7-3 win against Vancouver on Thursday. If Byron can't play, Mete could dress as a seventh defenseman. … The Canucks haven't updated the status of defensemen Edler, who missed the game Thursday, or Chatfield, who was injured in the game Thursday. Benn could make his season debut after being out because of COVID-19 protocol until he practiced Wednesday.
