Wild team scope

The Minnesota Wild will try to extend their winning streak to six games against the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Thursday. Goaltender Devan Dubnyk is 7-0-2 in his past nine games and has allowed two goals or fewer in 18 of 23 starts this season. He said those streaks don't mean anything against a good home team like the Nashville Predators. "Streaks, they're not easy to come by," Dubnyk said. "It seems like you have to do these things just to keep up. The most important thing to understand is tonight's game has nothing to do with the last five and same thing going forward. We need to kind of check in each game one at a time here and not think because we've won five that it's just going to mean we're going to win the next one. We've been doing the right things and we need to especially do that tonight." Wild forward Charlie Coyle will play in his 300th NHL game.

Predators team scope

The Predators are coming off a 6-3 win against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday during which they trailed 3-0 and scored six unanswered goals. The players said they would like to try and build off of that offensive outburst against a tough defensive team like the Wild. "I think that obviously we're aware of certain things that they do really well," defenseman P.K. Subban said. "But we have to focus on what we do well and what gives us success, and I think that's putting the puck behind them and getting on the forecheck and creating turnovers. We've been a team that wants to put 70 attempts at the other team's net every game, and I think that we've done a good job of getting 30, 35 plus shots [on goal] a game." The Predators are 2-3-1 in their past six games but are 10-2-2 at home this season.
