Celebrini and Smith at the ballpark

Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith took a trip to Oracle Park on Monday, and the visit was a home run.

The San Jose Sharks forwards went to see the MLB game between the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks, and even took some batting practice before the first pitch.

In a social media video posted by the team, Celebrini and Smith took some pretty good-looking hacks in the cage, then rated each other’s swings.

Smith -- who played baseball when he was growing up -- got a 4/10 rating from Celebrini.

Meanwhile, Celebrini got a much more generous 8/10 rating from Smith.

Both players got a customized Giants jersey to wear during the warm-up at-bats.

The young stars, drafted one year apart by the Sharks, quickly grew their friendship throughout last season. From friendly wagers to matching T-shirts, Celebrini and Smith were seen together a lot last year and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change as the new season gets underway.

As for Monday’s baseball game, there’s no doubt they hit that one out of the park.
