Jordan Weal scored in the first period and in the shootout for the Montreal Canadiens in a 5-4 preseason win against the Florida Panthers at Bell Centre.

Brett Connolly tied it 4-4 for the Panthers with a power-play goal at 10:10 of the third period.
Brendan Gallagher scored two goals, Weal had a goal and an assist, and Brett Kulak scored for the Canadiens. Carey Price made 13 saves.
Jonathan Ang had a goal and an assist, and Owen Tippett and Anthony Greco scored for the Panthers. Sam Montembeault made 42 saves.
Montreal outshot Florida 46-17.
