Sean Monahan has been very successful against the Hurricanes in his young career. The centreman led the Flames in scoring against Carolina last year with one goal and four points in two games and has averaged 1.4 points-per-game against the Hurricanes in his career, with seven points in five games.
Monahan's first home multi-goal game also came against the Hurricanes. He scored two goals against Carolina on Oct. 23, 2014. His single-game career high in points came against Carolina as well, with four points in last February's 4-1 win at the 'Dome.

If Brian Elliott gets the start tonight, it will be his 14th career game against the Hurricanes. He holds a 6-5-0 career record with a 2.77 GAA and a .899 save percentage against Carolina.
FAMILIAR FACES
The Hurricanes 2016-17 roster includes two former Flames, Lee Stempniak and Jakub Nakladal. Stempniak, who signed a two-year deal with Carolina in the off-season, leads the team in scoring with three goals and five points. Nakladal, who signed a one-year deal with the team this fall, made his Hurricanes debut on Tuesday in Edmonton.
Calgary Hitmen alumnus Victor Rask is one of Carolina's leading scorers this season with two goals and four points in three games. The Hurricanes selected Rask in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
