The San Jose Sharks erupted with four power-play goals in the third period to rally from being down three goals and eliminate the Vegas Golden Knights from the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 5-4 overtime win in Game 7 of the Western Conference First Round at SAP Center on Tuesday.

The Sharks scored those four goals in a span of 4:01, the eighth-fastest four by one team in Stanley Cup Playoff history and fastest since the St. Louis Blues scored four on the man-advantage in 3:07 against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 3 of the 1998 Western Conference Quarterfinals. San Jose also tied an NHL record for most power-play goals in one playoff period, last achieved by the Washington Capitals in the third period of Game 3 of the 2016 Eastern Conference First Round against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Forward Barclay Goodrow's goal at 18:19 of overtime made the Sharks the second NHL team to come back from being behind three goals in the third period and win a Game 7. The Boston Bruins did it en route to

Bruins continue Game 7 dominance of Maple Leafs

Forward Joakim Nordstrom and center Sean Kuraly each had one goal and one assist to help the Bruins to a 5-1 win in Game 7 at TD Garden and eliminate the Maple Leafs in the Eastern Conference First Round for the second consecutive season. It was the Bruins' sixth straight series win against the Maple Leafs since the 1969 Quarterfinals, matching the third-longest head-to-head series win streak in NHL history. Boston also won its 15th Game 7 (15-12), passing the Montreal Canadiens (14-9) and Detroit Red Wings (14-11) for most in NHL history.

Capitals, Hurricanes conclude first round with Game 7

The Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes play Game 7 of the first round at Capital One Arena on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN, SN360, TVAS, NBCSWA, FS-CR). It's the 12th Game 7 for Washington since the start of the 2008 playoffs, the most among all NHL teams in that span. The Hurricanes will play their first deciding game since winning Game 7s in consecutive series of the 2009 postseason en route to the Eastern Conference Final.
Capitals forward Carl Hagelin is 8-1 in nine Game 7s, tied for the most wins in NHL history with Brad Richards (8-0), Ray Bourque (8-1) and Glenn Anderson (8-4). The Hurricanes counter with forward Justin Williams, the leading Game 7 scorer with 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in eight games. Carolina's captain will play his first Game 7 with the Hurricanes in 13 years. He had three points (one goal, two assists) in a 4-2 win against the Buffalo Sabres in Game 7 of the 2006 Eastern Conference Final and scored in Carolina's Stanley Cup-clinching 3-1 victory against the Oilers.
