"It's just fun to treat every game like it's a championship game and compete hard," Entwistle said of his postseason goal production. "I get some lucky bounces and I'm fortunate enough to put some in."
Tied 1-1, Marian Studenic scored the game-winning goal for Hamilton with 2:01 left in the third period. With the victory, Hamilton evened its Memorial Cup record at 1-1.
"We knew this was a must win," Entwistle said. "It's the Memorial Cup and we're playing all of the best teams in Canada, and we knew it wasn't going to be easy. We're happy to get this one."
Swift Current (0-2) played minus Coyotes prospect Tyler Steenbergen, who suffered an upper-body injury vs. Acadie-Bathurst in his team's first game of tournament on Saturday. Steenbergen, who produced 102 points during the regular season, is considered "day-to-day" for the rest of the tournament.
Hamilton will complete the round-robin portion of its schedule on Tuesday when it plays unbeaten Acadie-Bathurst. NHL Network will broadcast the game starting at 5 p.m. (Arizona time).
"They're 2-0, so we've just got to play our game and play simple and do what works for us, and I'm sure we'll be fine," Entwistle said.
