DAL-Win-Over-EDM

DALLAS -- Alexander Radulov, Tyler Seguin and John Klingberg each had a goal and two assists when the Dallas Stars defeated the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 at American Airlines Center on Saturday.
Jamie Benn and Mattias Janmark scored, and Ben Bishop made 37 saves for Dallas (24-16-3), which won its final game before five days off.

"Sometimes it's happening, sometimes it's going well, and we worked hard and get rewarded, whole team played good," Radulov said. "Good structured game, everybody and Bishop, we need these points and now we have a little break."

Leon Draisaitl scored for the Oilers (18-21-3), who have lost five of their past six.

Radulov had three points in the first period to help the Stars take a 3-0 lead.
Radulov made it 1-0 at 10:21 on a 2-on-1 with Seguin. Klingberg set it up with a stretch pass and extended his five-game point streak (four goals, five assists).
"Obviously with those three guys scoring goals, it's easy to get apples (assists), just a great team win," Klingberg said. "That's how we wanted to play the last game before the bye week."
Benn made it 2-0 at 12:54 of the period on a pass from Radulov. Seguin pushed the lead to 3-0 at 16:32 with Radulov getting the assist.

"We came in pretty focused, and the three of us didn't even start together, but [coach Ken Hitchcock] threw us together one shift and I think [Radulov] scored that first shift and started things and we had a good first period," Benn said.
Janmark scored at 4:27 of the second period when his shot deflected off Oilers defenseman Andrej Sekera and went past Cam Talbot for a 4-0 lead.

Talbot was pulled after allowing four goals on 19 shots. Al Montoya, who was acquired in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, made his Oilers debut and stopped 13 of 14 shots. He hadn't played since Nov. 4 because of a concussion.
"For myself, it was fun to be playing hockey again," Montoya said. "It was a long road back. I'm just happy to be back."
Draisaitl scored his first power-play goal of the season at 2:04 of the third period to make it 4-1. Klingberg made it 5-1 at 10:04 when he scored at 4-on-4 on a pass from Seguin.
"We just got beat by a good team that worked hard," Oilers captain Connor McDavid said. "The first period they came out strong and made their plays. I thought the work ethic was there. Just a couple mental mistakes that ended in the back of the net."

They said it

"Right now, we're generating some chances and the puck's not going in the net. We've gone through phases where we've had fewer chances and scored many more goals. I don't know if it's a phase for us offensively. Obviously, we've got to get a little harder. And I think our back end, particularly from the blue line, could do a better job of managing the puck and getting shots through and creating for our forwards." -- Oilers coach Todd McLellan
"Well I think if he keeps improving he should be up there [with] the best. But he's made a change in the way he plays, which has helped him a lot. He's adapted to being a big-minutes player. ... He's worked hard at keeping it simple from the red line back and that's really helped his game. He's not exposed himself. He's not put himself in tough spots physically, and I think it's allowed him to be a much better player. His offensive gifts are through the roof." -- Stars coach Ken Hitchcock on John Klingberg
