Mike Smith is expected to start in goal after he did not play in Saturday's game. Smith has posted a 15-2-1 record vs. the Oilers in 20 games.
"We know they want to play a fast game and they have a highly-skilled forward group over there," forward Tobias Rieder said. "In the past, we did a pretty good job of denying them the puck or playing tight on them so they don't get as much space on the ice."
Forward Radim Vrbata leads the Coyotes in points (27) and assists (18), and co-leads the team with nine goals. Center Martin Hanzal also has scored nine goals.
Head Coach Dave Tippett said center Alexander Burmistrov will make his debut with the Coyotes. Arizona claimed Burmistrov off waivers on Jan. 2, but it took nine days for him to join the team as he worked through the process of obtaining a work visa. He last played in an NHL game for Winnipeg on Dec. 6.
"He's a skill player," Tippett said. "We'll see. We'll get him up and going. He hasn't played in quite a while, so it's going to take him a few games to get going. But he's certainly a quick, skilled guy that will add that element to our lineup."
Burmistrov, 25, has notched 30 goals and 51 assists in 298 NHL games, all with Winnipeg/Atlanta, which drafted him eighth overall in 2010.
"This is a big opportunity for me, and lots of pressure on me," Burmistrov said. "I like that. I'm really excited ... I want to show my potential, what I can do, what kind of player I am and what I didn't show in the past years."
Rookie Brendan Perlini has scored three of Arizona's past five goals and has notched six this season in just 17 games.
The Coyotes are hoping to get forwards Jordan Martinook and/or Ryan White back in the lineup during this trip, which continues in Winnipeg on Wednesday and concludes in Minnesota on Thursday. White has missed nine games because of a nagging lower-body injury, and Martinook has watched the past three games because of an upper-body injury.
