Korpisalo, who was on a conditioning assignment with Cleveland of the American Hockey League, hasn't played since Dec. 29 when he sustained a knee injury in the shootout of a 3-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Blue Jackets went 13-5-6 during his absence but have gone 0-3-5 in their past eight games.
Korpisalo, who is in his first season as Columbus' No. 1 goalie after Sergei Bobrovsky signed with the Florida Panthers in the offseason, is 17-10-4 with a 2.49 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and two shutouts. He was selected to play in his first All-Star Game but was replaced by Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry because of his injury.
Matiss Kivlenieks was reassigned to Cleveland of the AHL. He went 1-0-2 with a 2.41 GAA and .907 save percentage in four games (three starts) with the Blue Jackets.
