Explanation: The Situation Room initiated a video review to further examine a play at the Carolina net. Video review determined that Philipp Kurashev's shot completely crossed the Carolina goal line in a legal fashion.
In addition, the Situation Room challenged and supported the Referees' call on the ice that Chicago's Adam Gaudette impaired Antti Raanta's ability to play his position in the crease prior to Philipp Kurashev's shot crossing the Carolina goal line. The decision was made in accordance with Rule 69.3 which states, in part,"If an attacking player initiates contact with a goalkeeper, incidental or otherwise, while the goalkeeper is in his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed."
NOTE: In the final minute of play in the third period and at any point in Overtime (Regular Season and Playoffs), Hockey Operations will initiate the review of any scenario that would otherwise be subject to a Coach's Challenge.
