Fabbri (2:06), Lucas Raymond (2:29) and Troy Stecher (5:18) scored in a span of 3:12 in a four-goal second period that gave Detroit a 4-2 lead. Alex Nedeljkovic made 17 saves on 19 shots in his Red Wings debut. Victor Brattstrom saved 13 shots in relief. Rasmus Asplund had a goal and an assist, Dylan Cozens had two assists, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 26 saves for the Sabres.
