Super Bowl hero James White drops puck at Bruins game

The Boston Bruins became the latest to celebrate the New England Patriots when members of the Super Bowl LI champions helped drop the ceremonial first puck before Boston's game against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

James White, who scored the winning touchdown in overtime for New England in the 34-28 win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, headlined a list of eight players and five coaches at TD Garden.

Each Patriots player wore a Bruins jersey with his number on it, and each coach donned the No. 5 for the number of championships New England has won. White, who set Super Bowl records with 14 catches and 20 points, dropped the puck between captains Zdeno Chara of the Bruins and Henrik Sedin of the Canucks.

"It's been a crazy journey for me," White said on NESN at the game's first intermission. "I'm just trying to enjoy every moment of it."
Although White's puck drop wasn't as energetic as the famous puck spike from Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski in 2015, the Boston crowd enthusiastically approved seeing the champs up close.
