Zach Senyshyn scored two goals to help the Boston Bruins defeat the Washington Capitals 5-2 at Capital One Arena.
Senyshyn scored 8:56 into the second period to give the Bruins a 3-1 lead, and he made it 4-1 at 19:33. Matt Niskanen brought the Capitals within 4-2 with a power-play goal 1:44 into the third period, but Sean Kuraly scored into an empty net for a 5-2 Boston lead with 54 seconds remaining. Cameron Hughes gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead 1:45 into the game, but the Capitals tied it 1-1 at 4:14 on a goal by Riley Barber. Jakub Lauko made it 2-1 Bruins at 19:03. Dan Vladar made 31 saves for the Bruins. Braden Holtby started and made a save on six of eight shots in 28:46 for the Capitals. Ilya Samsonov made nine saves on 11 shots in relief.
