Detroit took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Filip Zadina 2:32 into the first period. Cameron Hughes tied it at 1-1 at 7:00 before Dennis Cholowski put the Red Wings ahead 2-1 at 17:03. Vili Saarijarvi made it 3-1 39 seconds into the third period. Jimmy Howard made 23 saves for the Red Wings, and Zane McIntyre made 21 for the Bruins.
