NEW YORK – Washington Capitals forward Andrew Cristall has been fined $2,250.86, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Hunter McDonald during NHL Preseason Game No. 20 in Hershey, Pa., on Monday, Sept. 21, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 12:50 of the second period. Cristall was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
